My Story…
Creativity has been the defining element of my professional and personal life. I developed the majority of my professional skills while serving in the Marines as a journalist and photojournalist. In my personal life, I’ve been a musician for more than 20 years with a passion for playing and teaching guitar.
Creativity is my common thread.
I learned a lot in the fifteen years I served in the military. The training I received was incredible and has transferred well to my post-military career. Having a career with many skill sets has made work and life interesting.
Leaving the Marines in 2007, I found the multidiscipline approach I enjoyed previously, was not as prevalent outside the military. Most people in my field were either writers, photographers, public relations practitioners, web designers, etc. where I was used to doing all of those tasks in the same week-sometimes in the same day!
My multidiscipline approach has been both a blessing and a curse. I’m thankful for the experience, but in a job market that wants to put you neatly into one group or the other, I feel like the proverbial square peg in the round hole. Recently, I’ve come to appreciate my diverse background and realize it’s what makes me unique.
Whatever your project needs are, I promise you I will approach the opportunity with passion, professionalism and most importantly, creativity.
